Yeah look at the Fort Myers Beach cam (number nine) if it is still up. Cape Coral is just north of that and probably getting similar conditions. I can get living there(if that is your thing)but why oh why stay in a giant residential reclaimed swamp with a major hurricane predicted? I don't get it really. And all those elderly who apparently stayed...and with all those homes mostly one floor. I really hope they get through this alive somehow. Those houses are concrete I believe. If the water just does not get too high...

That eyewall is directly over Cape Coral.

Large areas of Cape Coral are just north of this too. Not a good look. That water is halfway up that electrical box that had the door open(P and CY East).

Yep-everything to the left is all miles of houses. It is coming out of the canals now. Those fences on the far left and far right are almost covered now-at least a foot rise in 15 minutes maybe?

Thanks for this. As long as this is up we can see the surge there as the houses start right there. I have a feeling they might miss the worst of the surge. I hope so.

Well stayed up till 2am to see the latest. Hardly expected to see this go from 120 to 155 mph now. Damn. How is Tampa going to fare?-is this thing coming in far enough south to spare them the worst?

Damn storm-two (relatively)small limbs down here, neighbor has carport crushed-with a minvan underneath. All of the silver maples around here need to be removed.

I am seriously done with winter but one decent wet snowfall that lasts a day and then melts would not be so bad. I remember a good 8-10 inch snowfall in Cbus April 87 I believe.
