I have 3 minutes of footage from Maspeth, Queens, from a near attic window of a series of wet micro bursts, with apparently brief spin-ups within each. Large branches down surrounding blocks. I am in the process of uploading.

Preceding the onset, firetrucks were slowly going down the streets with sirens on. This is what I imagine a tornado siren feeling as a New Yorker.

Just took a stroll through the neighborhood and was shocked by how many tree branches are down. I haven't seen this many branches littering the street since Sandy, nothing even close really.

It looked very similar during Gloria in central or East Suffolk.  Most rain was west and it was sunny out with 80-100 mph gusts

Just had some transformers go. Pretty loud explosions. Always amazes me how if there was 1-3 inches of snow with this everything would be closed but since it is a tropical storm it is basically business as usual.

very quick storm imo. winds started around 10 tapered off by 1:40 west of the city. luckily this limited the extent of the damage could have been way worse.

65 miles W of NYC per last NHC update. Still windy here but gusts are less powerful

power was off for two hours...winds were very bad...trees and branches all over the neighborhood...
