Jet Stream Rider
For the other folks on the borderline or just interested: Current 850 temp advection. That blue cold air advection area has just popped up very close to the area of waa.

Yeah it's killing me too. It isn't the warm ground though, it's not sticking to elevated surfaces either. The air is just too warm.

J Paul Gordon
Good to see you Southern folks enjoying an early snow. Stay safe on the roads. We expect a good snowfall here tomorrow (6-8") and the direction seems to heading upwards. You might not believe it but when the first snow comes, it seems like everyone forgets that we average 65-70" here in Worcester, MA and starts driving like its a snowstorm in Pensacola, FL! jjwxman
Raleigh is considering upgrading portions of the NW Piedmont to a Warning in their afternoon forecast package. Discussion: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Northwest and Northern Piedmont including the Triad area for 1 to possibly 2 inches of wet snow. A Warning may be needed for portions of the Northwest Piedmont and the Advisory may need to be extended eastward with the afternoon forecast package...
FallsLake
Mostly sleet again, some flakes mixing in (34.1). After looking at the latest RAP, this might be what I get for the majority of the event. Lots of frames where I'm in the "purple".
