It's more like in-situ CAD at this point.

hmm, yeah, in spirit it's something -sure.

I mean in one sense, it is not "...influencing the dynamics of the overlying air mass," but you can technically argue that it is " e.g. in an overrunning scenario. Effects on the weather may include cold temperatures, freezing precipitation, and extensive cloud cover"   ...

you know - it's like everything in this field, there really isn't 'boundaries' so to speak ...everything really exists on a fluid spectrum.  when we are right next to some range along said spectrum, the differences are so fuzzy that they don't seem to differentiate at all.  But, the other ends of said spectrum could not be any more universally different.

Kind of like the hybrid low thing... (subtropical)..  I mean, to the kid skipping school to hide at the library and read weather books, there are hurricanes and extra-tropical lows. then, somewhere along the way, women came along and now we have all these f-up gender issues about what we call people... and - oh wait ... got off track there.

seriously though ... there is all kinds of hybrid lows.  some are more like extra-tropical hybrid lows, and others are more like hurricanes by lack inner cores and their measured warm innards are luke at best.  so yeah, there are hurricanes, and hybrids and extra-tropical lows, and they are uniquely different, but...there are lows that fit everywhere in between.  that's how this works.  some with CAD... same with p-types... Same with wind gust mechanics... pick a dynamic about the atmosphere and that's true.

Warm air is arriving.  Temperature went from 32F to 36F in last 10 minutes.  Power has been flickering.  Trees coated with ice and our dirt road is a skating rink.  Warm air got here just in time to save any tree damage.  I'll wait a bit and work on scrapping the cars.  Thaw will not last long.
