nice multi-faceted, multi-day event ...

obsviously we're snowing over to mix ... then there's some icing concern in the interior and to some extent on the coast for a period tonight should these hi resolution ideas of 'slosh' back ageostrophic push takes place.

we bust out on the coastal plain tomorrow am?  ...not so sure it's that cut and dry in the interior but will go ahead with it anyway.  but, the 12z NAM solution might actually bring a wind concern back to the coastal plain/s-se sections as those regions are busting into better mixed warmth tomorrow afternoon and the wind at BOS is 33 kt steady mid boundary layer.  That's pretty good - then, the front comes through and sweeps modified arctic air good for mid 20s cold right back sweeping through in the evening and what ever is on the roads in the interior and coast at that time flashes over to ice at a rate that would make a Zamboni envious -

Do you think interior areas say Northwest of 95 and west of 495 hold onto pack?

Curiously the NWS has the temp here falling this afternoon.

I didn't think this statement in their AFD made sense....

Non-diurnal temperature trend for the most part except
with a forecast burst of return colder air briefly around the late
afternoon early evening for areas along and N of the Hartford to
Boston corridor (see previous discussion below). Monitoring for
the flash freeze / freezing rain - drizzle potential over such
areas.

SN+ continues, but looking at radar, the heavy stuff doesn't have much more than an hour to go.

17.6*
