Should be a couple of inches here. That first band should peeter out...better forcing will come in behind it. This is more of a NNE/CNE event anyways. I'm not too concerned about temps. We have a ton of room to wetbulb down.

Dews in the singles - will suck up considerable precip but probably keep whatever makes it to the ground frozen until after sunrise.

Yeah looks like most of the precip is after 9-10pm.

But what is the RGEM smoking?  It has not backed down at all today...like three straight runs of a half inch QPF in this area below 32F.

It'll be interesting to see what happens as this would be a fairly big short term (like 12 hours) bust for the RGEM as no other model is even close to it on the moisture amounts from here down to your area (or Gene's at least).

Hah, Sure it won't happen like this, but it's perfect for my area.. strong band comes through as rain while everyone else enjoys snow even to the coast of RI

Yeah...just a weenie model radar algorithm. It's probably like 35/15 on the leading edge and it's getting flagged as liquid.

Nice overcast skies this afternoon...probably about the most we'll see from this...maybe get lucky with a quick burst later. But best looks north.

1" in heavy snow. Sort of like a squall line more than warm air advection, but the HRRR nailed it with a line of 0.1" QPF rolling through between 8-10pm. Then it's got a break and another round later of 0.1-0.2" QPF. Feel pretty good for 2-3" tonight.
