Here North of Brattleboro VT I have 6 inches which the heated rain gauge shows .40 " rain. Should be measuring pretty well as there isnt much wind.   That gives us 15 to 1 ratio. Pretty dry snow.  I can testify to that having just blown the driveway.   Still cold here too at 24.

see  WWW.havenfarm.com   for webcam..

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM FRIDAY/...

415 PM UPDATE...

* MESOSCALE BANDING...HEAVY SNOW BAND AT 4 PM WAS OVER NORTHEAST
MA INTO SOUTHERN NH AND BEGINNING TO EXIT THE REGION AS DEEP
LAYER MOISTURE IS MOVING OFFSHORE.

* PTYPE AND ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL...DRIER AIR /DRY SLOT/ ALOFT
BEGINNING TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST.
THIS WILL DRY OUT THE SNOW GROWTH REGION YIELDING PTYPE OF
MAINLY FREEZING DRIZZLE THIS EVENING...WITH MAINLY RAIN ALONG
AND SOUTHEAST OF I-95 IN RI AND EASTERN MA. THIS INCLUDES THE
BOSTON-PROVIDENCE CORRIDOR. THEN AFTER 03Z COMMA HEAD OVER THE
MID ATLC ROTATES NORTHWARD ACROSS THE REGION...ESPECIALLY
WESTERN NEW ENGLAND. THIS YIELD A SECOND ROUND OF PRECIP FROM
MAINLY 03Z-09Z. MID LEVEL WARMING YIELDS RAIN EVENTUALLY
CHANGING TO SNOW OVERNIGHT FROM WEST TO EAST AS HEIGHTS CRASH
AND COOL THE COLUMN. DURATION OF SNOW WILL BE LONGEST OVER
WESTERN CT/MA /I-91 CORRIDOR/ INCLUDING THE CITIES OF HARTFORD
AND SPRINGFIELD. THIS REGION MAY PICKUP AN ADDITIONAL 2-4
INCHES. HAVE TO WATCH POTENTIAL THUNDERSNOW IN COMMA HEAD AS
ALREADY SEEING MANY STRIKES IN VA/DE/MD. HOWEVER THIS WILL
LIKELY TRACK ACROSS EASTERN NY AND THE BERKSHIRES. THUS HIGHER
SNOWFALL THERE. FARTHER EAST MID LEVEL WARM AIR WILL BE SLOWER
TO ERODE WITH A COATING TO PERHAPS 2 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL
ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE ACROSS RI AND EASTERN MA OVERNIGHT.

* HEADLINES...GIVEN THE WINTRY MIX THIS EVENING FOLLOWED BY A
PERIOD OF SNOW OVERNIGHT FROM COMMA HEAD...ESPECIALLY WESTERN
CT/MA WILL LEAVE CURRENT WINTER WEATHER HEADLINES IN EFFECT.

* SNOWFALL GRAPHICS...THESE IMAGES REPRESENT STORM TOTALS WHICH
INCLUDE THE ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL WITH COMMA HEAD OVERNIGHT.

* STRONG WINDS...STRONG LOW LEVEL JET MOVES ALONG THE COAST
THROUGH 7 PM SOUTH COAST AND 10 PM EAST COAST. MAIN CONCERN IS
NORTHEAST MA /ESSEX COUNTY/ WHERE UP TO 8 INCHES OF HEAVY WET
SNOW COMBINES WITH GUSTY WINDS FOR POSSIBLE DOWN TREE LIMBS AND
POWER OUTAGES. WINDS BRIEFLY LESSEN OVERNIGHT AS CENTER OF THE
LOW TRACKS OVER OR VERY CLOSE TO THE REGION.

just not your storm. sat night as consolation?

It never was...that's why I told James a few days ago to take a break...it was always a question of 1-2" of snow and then how much rain and how cold.  Turned out to be .001" of snow and a lot of rain!

LOL.  how much left OTG down your way, and going into this?

It's still solid, 3-4 I think as it was solid ice and then a layer of fluff on top.  I needed this little break as the driveway and walk was a sheet of 2" ice that I broke up an hour ago with a heavy crowbar and I've been shoveling it off the roof in channels every hour or so.

Glad everyone else got their turn.

Up to 40 and now foggy.
