The return of the elusive Nor'easter. Drought buster or bust?
AlexD1990 replied to dailylurker's topic in Mid Atlantic
I know it hasnt been much for most of you, but this has been a decent storm down by the beach. Very strong winds last night, whistling through windows, etc, definitely a few gusts at or over 50. Not the best for sleeping. Lots of reports of flooding in the usual areas locally. Maybe not as bad as it could have been, but this counts as a solid nor Easter for us. Interesting stat IMBY: The temp has been between 53 and 56 for over 24 hours now. At least the power is back on now.

Meh. Crappy first half by the commanders

Sea levels are a few inches higher due to climate change, but it is the duration of the northeasterly fetch more so than the intensity of the storm causing the flooding and erosion. It would be interesting to see how much the increase in sea levels does affect coastal flooding.

The return of the elusive Nor'easter. Drought buster or bust?
EastCoast NPZ replied to dailylurker's topic in Mid Atlantic
It did in May. And that's about the only time in the last 3 years. -
I can’t describe the feeling after that lol. I was like holy Foc . I’ve sat out that so many years in storms . Nothing like that ever happened. I’ll be out there next summer

Been watchin it all day. Be nice to have an early start to the ski season. Temps have fallen to 27, the skies are lowering really dark, the wind is up and preconsolidation is starting on the roads and pavement. That stuff is starting to get heavy! Wind is gusting to 47! I am beginning to update to 2020s tracks but I gotta watch out for some of these videos, some of them are so divisive. I have had about enough of maga. sorry guys about that video, I took it right off. Had to delete the post to get rid of that EMBARRASSING vid. Billions of apologies. Just blast ELO and think of me jebwalking against the 40 mph NE winds and heavy wet snow in Mammoth, lol. And lovingly digging massive amounts of snow back when I still could, lmao. Roads in Mammoth are caving at 27 degrees and moderate to heavy snow! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/woolly-cam

If it was, why was there not flight plan given? I’m not convinced.

Color here is just stuck on not much. Most years I'm getting close to a peak by mid month and at times leaves are mostly gone by Halloween. This year, we had some reds in early September but very little progress since then.
