WxUSAF Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Coldest morning of the season IMBY. My crappy PWS got to 32.9, which is probably a little too cold, but neighbors hit at least 35.

dailylurker Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM More perfect fall weather. What an epic stretch of classic fall weather. I don't mind the lack of exciting weather this time of the year. It's been absolutely beautiful. 1

yoda
FYI per this afternoon's AFD from LWX The growing season for 2026 has ended along and west of the Blue Ridge and Catoctin Mountains, but continues east of there. Any headlines for frost/freeze conditions will only be issued where the growing season remains active.

I've seen it take until almost December. Nothing new. There's been more light frost this Oct than I ever remember. This area has a climate similar to central NC. We don't do cold well.

My climo here is so hostile towards the cooler seasons lol Climo first freeze for you is probably Nov 1-ish? Couple days earlier for me? IAD is behind schedule. But with the early November forecast, probably most of us that haven’t had a freeze yet will be later than normal.
EastCoast NPZ
32F for the low. Must've been a pretty heavy frost, everything was wet when I went outside.
IronTy
I'm not worried yet. I remember when we built our house in Calvert I had grass germinating in December and growing and that was over 20yrs ago. Things are done up here at DCL. All the leaves are down except for a few oak trees. My phone said 33F when I woke up this morning.
