There was a fairly widespread area of 60mph+ returns on BWI TDWR from about MD10 eastward. A few pockets of 80. Not surprising.

She’s between Ritchie, 100, and Magothy Bridge RD. I think worst was north of her on the other side of 100

That's over where my parents live... my mom said the traffic light was out at Lake Waterford Park. Yeah, most of the damage was north / east of MD100 / MD10.

I think we’ve had that convo before, how close our parents are :)

And that makes sense. My sister’s house off Edwin Raynor, north of 100 and Mountain Road, had a lot more damage with down trees and such.

Mount Holly bullish for heavy rainfall here on Tuesday. 1-2" in the forecast for Tuesday night.

And now it's three quarters to one inch. No idea why they constantly do this knowing the scattered nature of how we get rain in the summer. Tomorrow morning it will be a quarter to a half, or 'tenth of an inch or less except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms', which should always be the default unless a stratiform/widespread general rain is expected.

I think he meant precip in general. Should do well with rain events to knock down any remaining deficits.

Yeah after the last two years I don't even care if it snows down here this winter , I'm just fine with noreaster after noreaster of 40F and rain (I'll change my tune in December).

IIRC, any forecast beyond D3 now is straight AI/auto generated with minimal input from forecasters. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Fairly certain there is still a human element involved that can adjust the output from their use of AI/ML

I would say that is pretty pathetic and lazy if we were in normal times, but knowing what we know, I suppose it is understandable.

Human forecasters act as the ultimate decision-makers in formulating a forecast.

AI and advanced computer modeling are certainly incorporated into the process but humans provide oversight to any and all forecasts.

Rolling thunder here in 20157. Looks like I might get stuck between lines. Still as can be out right now.

Absolutely comical split to basically whiff our area - light rain for 45 minutes. That has happened so much this spring and summer - not sure why but it has been happening a lot.

Point/click has my rain chances for tonight through Wednesday night of 60%, 70%, 90%, 80%, 80%.  I'm calling it now:  less than 0.2 total and a total whiff wouldn't surprise me.

Too bad that new depression in the Gulf is expected to move west towards Texas.  A tropical system up the coast is the only way I can think of that would get real rain here.

I just watched Jim Cantory say that it seems to be trending more towards a LA landfall. That's more in our wheelhouse for remnant moisture than Texas. That will just mean Frederick and Glen Burnie get flash flooding lol

Beyond day 3 is generated using the NBM, but WPC is allowed to make some minor edits (with input from the local offices).  It is NOT AI-based.

This isn't true at all.    All NWS gridded forecasts use the NBM which combines lots of available computer models.   For Days 4-7, WPC can make some minimal edits and get some input from WFOs, but they mostly leave the NBM alone.   For Days 0-3, the WFOs can be a bit more heavy-handed, but they are still encouraged to limit their editing.

Thank you for the clarification! I've seen more AFDs reference "WPC AI guidance" and was getting concerned it was becoming just plug and chug computer nonsense in the Mid and long range.
