Would be very sad if it happens to us yet again. I know it's very hard for the model to pinpoint the spots that will get heavy rain though, so hopefully the 0z run will be wrong. LongBeachSurfFreak
absolutely awesome storm ripped through westhampton last night 20 minutes after the fireworks. gusty winds, lashing rain, but nothing *too* severe like other people were affected in the forum. just a great show with very minor limb damage to trees. What are we thinking in terms of rainfall around SW nassau for the next two days? Driving to and from the hamptons this weekend I got a pretty good visual sense of where the worst of this vicious drought is and it seems like South West to South Central Nassau- and generally just the south shore, until around the Hamptons- has had it worst. The south shore of Nassau has seasonal summer drought due to the sea breeze front. The more years I experience the more I comprehend this phenomenon. It’s a big part of why the Hempstead plains once existed. Native Americans used the summer seasonal drought to create controlled burns. It doesn’t make it an easy place to live if your into gardening or in my case a landscape designer. The good news with this event is, we often do best in summer with this exact setup. .

winterwx21
Just had a pretty good moderate shower. I'm up to 0.16" so far. Radar looks nice with the big batch of steady moderate to heavy rain coming in from PA. Hopefully this will be a nice 1 to 2 inch rainfall for this area like NAM3km shows.

ForestHillWx
Port Jervis/Huguenot area looks like it’s getting crushed. That area had a wicked flood in 2006/2007 I think, when the Neversink went over its banks. Hopefully the stationary cells start to lift.
