Poor Ji he just got the smack down by Jason S from CWG and from Wes...Jays Wintry Mix approval ratings keep getting lower and lower :(

Jay's Wintry Mix has the most accurate daily forecast. He always goes with the model with the least amount of activity. He's right about 70% of the time lol. On a severe day all the Facebook mets are hyping it. He'll be like "Today looks mostly dry. A few spots could see a storm. Not Leesburg. Our bubble is strong." Then, later on he'll post a radar image of storms all around Leesburg. The housewives are bowing to him

Yeah he generally does better than the hype-y social media mets, and he still has a strong following. Amazing.

If we get a blizzard this winter, he will triple his follower count for sure!

CFS continues to advertise a favorable look at h5 and at the surface for late winter. This model is generally not known to be consistent run to run(lol shocker) but it has been pretty steadfast with this look for many runs. Giga?

March looks just as good and Jan is pretty acceptable.

@dailylurker and I rented a cabin close to the apex of the Tug Hill from December - February. Elevation will be critical, even in upstate NY so hedging our bets for the winter - my hope is we will be buried from start to finish.

Watch it be a record breaker. 450" season right on snow camp or bust. Barns Corner is going to have a hot hand this season. LFG!

I still can't believe Barnes Corner is going to be my home for the winter. I'm looking forward to documenting the beautiful relationship between Lake Ontario and the Tug Hill. These LES bands are beautiful when they are streaming across the lake.

Gun to head a similar progression to 2016 is my thinking.  Probably a not so great start to winter transitioning colder as it goes along. People forget how close we were to more snowstorms in Feb and March in 2016. It didn’t come together but the pattern was decent from Jan 15 on

How is the niño looking right now? Still east based or becoming more basin wide?

Basically both. This is pretty wild for August. PDO region is a literal dumpster fire. You could cook ramen by the square mile.

I dont have many concrete thoughts about winter. Seasonal guidance is basically default enso climo but the Pacific overall is anything but normal or default. But it's only August and much will change.

If seasonal guidance has the right idea with the AO/NAO, winter will probably produce but the anomalous nature of enso will prob produce anomalous patterns. When and what is above my pay grade

What is the pay grade for a bulldozer operator if you you don't mind me asking?

Lol. Down here, any equipment owner/operator is making well over 6 figures. Going rate is $800-1200/day depending on complexity. Forest mulchers are $1,500+ but that kind of work is dangerous and hard on equipment. Fun to watch though haha
