rimetree
It was actually a pretty mild week with a highs of 69 Monday, 76 Tuesday and 68 yesterday. It didn't really feel all that warm because those periods were brief as most of the time we were holding under 60F. 49F and breezy now.

metagraphica
Interesting heat island effect around NYC as the mank tries to push west. Very cool watching it in motion. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=local-New_Jersey-02-24-1-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined

That’s why you have the cloud line straddling the NJ shore too. But basically there’s enough land that makes up Long Island that the further west you get the more you’re able to take a bite out of that stratus.

How come that didn’t happen here…there’s a lot of land from eastern mass to my area..and the clouds got us anyway. Go 20 miles west of here and it’s clear. There's deeper low level moisture up here...not much dry air to mix down and dissipate the stratus.
