Angus
We got maybe 13" here in Concord MA and that might be generous. But it was a good storm with wind and drifting. I had to go to Norwell today (think Weymouth/ Hanover/Hingham) no power, street clean up poor. Snow depth is thigh high there. What a mess.

See, this is me now, as opposed to 10 years ago....now I'm able to bare the busted forecast trauma to salvage growth. I think we thought there would a band to the NW. I did. But I think that night I saw the 3K Nam show the western CT stuff and then that firehose into SE MA and RI. That had tremendous front despite lacking big convergence. You also rode the dryslot which steepens lapse rates and aids in that too. I felt pretty good about that area. Actually was hoping it would be more north but it was modeled well. I admittedly did not participate in the office run up to the storm, but from conversation I can say our post mortem caution flags should’ve been the dry air eating the northern edge versus the pretty simulated reflectivity and QPF maps presented, and falling for the NBM snow ratio trap. That second one shifted the heavy snow at least a row of counties north.

I've seen so many pictures from Taunton and 78. my father was active as an army reserve and was driving the front-end loading machines in Taunton, the drifts and banks were above the tires on that thing

Although it really sucks because I probably won't be able to get to 100" now. I'm going to record six inches. Anything more than that I think is suspicious.

Just up my hill at 725 is the weeniest spot I know of Margaret Henry road at the Sterling Killingly border. Extreme retention to boot. I was up there today. I guessed over 30 .There depths exceed 45. We had a poster (RIP)who retired as a state plow driver who posted here it was the best spot in ECONN. Good stuff

I was worried about dry air lurking to the north most of the week as the confluence from that s/w backing in from ME was slow to lift out. Sunday morning I just knew it was going to be a problem when I saw how much the dry air was putting up a fight with the cloud cover.

tavwtby
so I went into the office today, across the street from BDL, and on the way in you could see where that secondary band kinda cut off in western Granby, going up the hill in barkhamsted it was looking like here, also had to go to Waterbury today and just south of about harwinton it seemed a bit less, but Waterbury looks like maybe 12/13" fell, I assume from the initial push, that fizzled out overnight, then the banding took over around predawn time
