We got maybe 13" here in Concord MA and that might be generous. But it was a good storm with wind and drifting. I had to go to Norwell today (think Weymouth/ Hanover/Hingham) no power, street clean up poor. Snow depth is thigh high there. What a mess.

I am working on a post mortem now and will illustrate all of this. See, this is me now, as opposed to 10 years ago....now I'm able to bare the busted forecast trauma to salvage growth.

I think we thought there would a band to the NW. I did. But I think that night I saw the 3K Nam show the western CT stuff and then that firehose into SE MA and RI. That had tremendous front despite lacking big convergence. You also rode the dryslot which steepens lapse rates and aids in that too. I felt pretty good about that area. Actually was hoping it would be more north but it was modeled well.

I admittedly did not participate in the office run up to the storm, but from conversation I can say our post mortem caution flags should’ve been the dry air eating the northern edge versus the pretty simulated reflectivity and QPF maps presented, and falling for the NBM snow ratio trap. That second one shifted the heavy snow at least a row of counties north.

Your neighborhood growing up took almost a week to get plowed in ‘78

yeah it took several days.  I've seen so many pictures from Taunton and 78. my father was active as a army reserve and was driving the front-end loading machines in Taunton, the drifts and banks were above the tires on that thing

I'm actually really glad there was really no way for me to measure so while I'm disappointed because I don't know what I got, I am sheltered because I don't know how much less than expected. Although it really sucks because I probably won't be able to get to 100" now.

I'm going to record six inches. Anything more than that I think is suspicious.

I did see that in the soundings. Plus strong nrly flow isn’t a good thing there usually. I thought far SNH would do better.

I can’t believe after all the panic and negativity I was subjected to read through from you, TBlizz, and Luke for days that I had to basically count every flake that fell to scrape my way to 12” while all of you cleaned up.

Congrats. I’m sick.

Other than the first one, the rest was my yard.

If you thought that storm was coming, I salute you.

100% knew your area would clean up. You’re in one of the best spots in the state imo.

Just up my hill at 725 is the weeniest spot I know of Margaret Henry road at the Sterling Killingly border. Extreme retention to boot. I was up there today. I guessed over 30 .There depths exceed 45. We had a poster (RIP)who retired as a state plow driver who posted here it was the best spot in ECONN. Good stuff

Some of us know it was just a matter of when. For the record March will provide us with another foot plus storm.  At 65 inches now 8 AN for an entire season
