Ray has responded quite calmly to all of this (back a few pages).   He knew it was coming towards yesterday evening

Ha, I knew Friday, Was no sense in investing anymore time on it, And the next two look meh as well.

The echos look lighter but it’s just as strong as it has been. I think we push 38”.

This is a full corpse rotting in this band. Never in my years studying weather have I seen a mesoband this persistent outside lake effect or ocean effect snow.

It won't necessarily get weaker, but you will see the band contract in size as the warm advection moves north and it becomes more driven purely by deformation.

Are you really going to F’ng kick me while I’m down? Have some respect. Lol.

I got that from GYX report.

Could be wrong but I think that came from the CWSU at the Boston ARTCC. I absolutely believe that 30''+ or whatever it was.

This one's right up there with the St. Valentine's Day massacre of 2015 for GYX.

I've lamented that storm frequently on this site.  :o   It was the 4th and last event that winter to verify at 1/8 (or less) of the lower end of the forecast range.

Finally having some snow - at this rate we'll achieve a dusting by sunset.

Back to heavy rates in Boston with this band setting up

We continue this for several hours Logan will break 18"

Similar to the amounts just north of the city (Immediate suburbs)

There was still about a foot back there from the SWFE last month.  Very little melting in the back yard.  Thinking we're around 30" from this storm

That's awesome still great snow here 26 probably 27 very soon. Another measure at 5

Same. I legit measured 33”. Just can’t find the photographic proof. So I’ve always gone with GYX report since it agreed to what I measured.

Well, actually to an extent people in the northern part of Rhode Island can still say that about '78 being still the big one. The central and southern part is more local in this storm, but they do have some bagging rights now with this particular storm.

Yeah, I'd say 78 was the biggest for North of Providence in RI, while this one was the biggest for south of Providence.

Which is amazing to think how this area maximized the WWA and deformation to really bring this home. Just the right time at the right place.

Our dog absolutely haaaaaates my snowblower.  So weird.  It is rather quiet compared to my old gas powered one.   I wonder if it gives off some frequencies that bother her.

That would be my guess

This is the second city plow that's gotten stuck on our street in Cranston.

It's going to be a painful clean up.

What part of Cranston are you in? I'm 1/2 mile from Walmart. There's over 2 feet on my street. They're big trucks with big blades but can only do so much with this amount of snow!

We continue to rip in this stuff.

It’s not the stuff of PVD lore and SE MA but been lucky enough to stay in it when a little further NW sucked on exhaust for a few hours. Consistently 1-2” per hour stuff.

was just outside snow blowing and we had about 5” new from when I last did it and had 13”. So we’re past 18” at this point. 20+ is a lock.

Oh, for sure!

Looking at photos/accumulations, the Norton, Taunton, and Raynham area will break 30" if they haven't already.

2 NNW is Pennichuck water. Their data is pretty meh overall, they do us a free service but there are occasional mistakes and they like their "round" numbers x.0 and x.5.

The Hudson coop had 28.6" and is a former met, so pretty reliable obs there.
