LeesburgWx
Snow tv this morning out here under this band. Makes the storm feel a little less disappointing to wake up to snow still falling

Incredible Wonder when I’ll ever see that imby again. Jealous. 2

BlizzardNole
I'm estimating about 5" near Germantown, which correlates with reports from around me. Decent storm with grass fully covered and trees coated. I wish so many others in the area didn't get left out
diatae
Another beautiful storm in the books. Snow on the ground is my standard lol. Schools closed is my son's. 2 for 2. Measured 3.5" in my usual spot, but looks like over 4" in others.

clskinsfan
One of the worst fails of my lifetime out here. But that has been the story for a decade. Glad you all scored again to the east. Enjoy.

Probably going with 0.2" of snow in my CoCoRaHS today Your area over mine I would have thought would have gotten more. Yeah what I got really only started sticking around 11 last night. @Imgoinhungrylast night told me that where he is on the SE side of downtown stuff was sticking quite well. Wonder what he ended up with. 28 minutes ago, MDphotog said: Made the drive into the office from Hagerstown area to Frederick. Snow amounts definitely picked up around MD65 (the outlets) and increased as you got closer to South Mountain on I70. Surprised there wasn't more of a noticeable increase on South Mountain as it seemed like there was a band that was sitting over it all night, but it was gorgeous looking. Middletown / Myersville valley looks like it had a nice amount on the ground, maybe 6in at least, but hard to tell from the highway. Hit that remaining snow band there, coming down rather nicely still. Maybe that is the *REDACTED* that everyone has been excitedly speaking about. Braddock Heights had some good-looking amounts on the ground as well, but once you were down off there the snow totals fall back down relatively quickly for Frederick city, at least on the south side. Overall highways were fine, and the scenery is amazing. What a great play by play of this area. That being said the Low is sidelining Mr. J. He woke with a horrible sinus headache around 3am. He has a work from home day but he may just take a health day. 1 1
Nomz
I'm shocked at how long this band has lasted. Literally zero forcing at h850 and h700

We cannot score during La Niña, always something to muck it up.
rjvanals
Somehow I picked up another inch overnight pushing my storm total to a little over 5". This gives the GFS a "C" for the storm imby as I hit warning criteria but its still 0.5/4 in forecasting big storms this year.
DDweatherman
Drive thru Richie rd down the catoctins was sick this morning. Good bit of snow and crazy scenery. Everything plastered in snow, power lines are low.

The last 10 years or so make you wonder if there's been a change where good snows are south and east from coastal scrapers or way north and west, leaving a hole in the central part of the region. When I grew up east of DC, the N&W burbs were king. I moved to Germantown in '94 and we cashed in a lot in the 90s and 2000s. A good example was Dec. 5, 2003, when we got 8" right at freezing and DC was all rain. That would be rain here now. The N&W burbs have lost their edge.
haudidoody
Ended with a little over 4 inches here, but I'd imagine the official reports will be lower as there was 3 inches or less on pavement. Liquid equivalent must be pretty high.

clskinsfan
The radar from Cape Cod is something else right now. Not sure I remember seeing returns move that quickly on a radar before. They are getting absolutely destroyed in the Boston area.
Paleocene
Still some light snow from this last remnant band in Moco here near Downtown Silver Spring. A pretty wintry scene out there. Slushy and lightly covered neighborhood streets with 2-3" on them depending on how warm they got yesterday. The grass is up to 4" in spots. Main roads all totally fine. Overall, I'd say we just about met my expectations here -- saved by the norlun. Too bad we missed the coastal but hey there's always next year. Most years since I moved here we have gotten beaten easily by Winchester. This has been an awful snow season for the Shenandoah Valley although a bit better at the southern end of the valley thanks to the early season storms and more elevation.

katabatic
A classic upslope snowstorm on the western side of the Allegheny Front. Since yesterday morning, 6.5" imby with steady, at times moderate, snow continuing. Temp is 22.5 with winds remaining under 25 mph so the drifting is a relative minimum. Had a long pause yesterday afternoon/evening but overnight, it's been cranking. I'm a bit surprised since Erie is still closed for business, but regardless, it's very welcome for folks at the local ski resorts to be able to punch into March with a bit of a base.

That being said we are a wind tunnel anymore. There is not much of weather that I dislike but wind in my book gets the hate word attached to it.
