SPC mesoanalysis page 850mb winds (Version 2) is pretty nice. You can see some  of the convergent winds over PA down into NoVA. That's a good indicator. Also watch the radar from PA down into MD/VA for localized reflectivity maxima orienting into a line. That's a good indication it's starting. 

Thanks. Surprised I’m getting a switch to all snow and heavy snow at that without the norlun setup yet. Hopefully bodes well for the people outside of it later

3:45pm :  very wet snow mixing in and temp down from 38 at 2pm to 36.3 now

rates are everything. the flakes are smaller now and visibility is down to about 1/4 mile in this band so heavy snow right now, with a coating on grass and elevated surfaces. it’s also colder as i no longer hear the runoff from the snow melting off the roof.

Rain is heavier now in Baltimore. Maybe if we can stay under these returns for a bit we can changeover somewhat on schedule. But I am basically expecting 2-4 inches. I think we've lost warning criteria potential with how warm it has gotten, barring a perfect overnight death band. Oh well. I think it can still look quite pretty tomorrow though, as long as we don't completely get minimized between the CCB and the norlun...

Heaviest snow of the storm thus far here. My nearly 2” on grass melted back to 1” or so, getting refreshed quickly.

Drove from Brunswick to Frederick on 340.  When I went through the Cactoctins, hit a heavy snow shower.  Just light mix in Frederick.
