I haven't bothered measuring the sleet, but I shoveled the driveway right before the flip and there's at least 2 inches of compacted sleet now back covering it. 

One thing I will say about this high volume of sleet - it can be misleading. The weight means it isn't piling up on deck railings and other typical spots we are used to eyeballing to get a sense of rough snow depth - but it IS piling up in some weird places. I have some snow/sleet "drifts" just off my back porch that are well over a foot deep. Higher than my tall boots - and ask me how I found THAT out.

There's nothing quite like getting a ton of sleet real good in your boots from a pile snow/sleet that's too damn deep for your boots.

3:00PM obs in Havre de Grace: 21/18 (big spike in temp) and an additional .4” of sleet bringing the total to 8.7”. Admittedly, this total is probably low since it’s a disaster to measure.

At this point, 52 sounds really nice lol. It’s just nasty out rn. I actually like the wintry part but roads are really gonna suck for a few days. Glad I stocked up

I'm waiting till it's done before cleaning the driveway and sidewalks.  That's because I don't want the ice on the concrete. 

I figured with the powder beneath all that sleet will be better.

I’d say that’s how the 10” Cockeysville measure might make sense. Probably cleared the snow and then added the sleet total.

 

I am about 5-10 minutes South to SW of Cockeysville and my accumulations are akin to Owings Mill. My ruler says about 8.5 -09 inches on the ground.

6" snow, 2.5" sleet in Gaithersburg so far. I'm definitely breaking 3, and almost certainly will end somewhere around 4" if those returns west fall as sleet.

I’d clear it all now. It’s going to sleet for a few more hours before turning the fza. Once it’s does it will feel like concrete and weigh as much for sure.

I guess it depends on where you live on when the change happens.

I jumped off the a snowbank  into the snow the morning I left. I thought i was going to die. Scared the shit out of me when it was bottomless. I swam out of it while the owner of the Airbnb watched in amazement lol

Roads are atrocious around Stafford/Fredericksburg. Some of the heaviest Sleet I’ve ever seen. I’d guess maybe 7.0” inches of Snow/Sleet but impossible to be accurate.

I thought I'd be upset at lack of snow but this sleet is impressive and interesting enough that I'm not even mad... It's shocking how hard it's sleeting
