Having just driven to BWI from Gaithersburg, I can say that the Arterials are OK, though some country roads have huge snowdrifts in one lane and are down to a single lane. But neighborhood streets are wrecked. Even in my relatively well plowed neighborhood the sleet berms are 3-5 feet high and higher in some points, and the lanes are one car width wide. Busses can't turn in that and it's not melting anytime soon.

I think we are shut down at MCPS til Monday. I just can't see any of these problems going away before then.

I know many are chasing the unicorn but I would be very happy with a 4-6” refresher snow.

Strange days when we'd refer to a 4-6" snowfall as a "refresher!!"  But I know what you mean.  I'm not unicorn hunting...though would take it if it actually happens!  I'm mostly trying to see if we can get a decent event like a high-end advisory to low-end warning level amount and not sit here smoking cirrus.  I think too many are thinking if it's not the unicorn, then it's a fail.

@Maestrobjwa and @stormtracker...I saw that today is Mozart's birthday!!  Now, I know that @stormtracker is not the biggest fan...I believe he once referred to Mozart with the phrase "his harpsichord playing ass!"...but as a classical music lover I still appreciate Mozart!  Great music and great opera music as well!  (Though I still must say Beethoven is my favorite!)

ETA...I just have to add this link too, from one of my favorite movies!

My travel schedule ramps up in February and March so hopefully we get something before i hit it although two spots could potentially be snowy. Im heading to Greensboro early next week and they could get hit from this weekends snow then mid month Grand Rapids Michigan and who knows up there then Anaheim first week of March. Im guessing Anaheim won't see snow

I have to think same for Loudoun.  Still a lot of unplowed roads and sidewalks are a mess.  Bus stops non existant where plows came through because the snow is piled up on the corners.

I just wish they would call it now so we could get out of town a day or two earlier :-)
