3.2? And I wonder if those stations account for settling/compaction. I just measure what's there- what's otg at the time, not what's fallen.

They definitely got some of the yellow bands that missed me. 3 miles away can make a difference with banding.

It was a measurement error from the sensor, everywhere else is around 1.0"

Looks like Damascus and Mount Airy jackpotted?

Tomorrow morning commute should be fun. Lows in mid teens tonight. It will be a glacier out there.

.

Then up to Parrs Ridge and east I think.

Surprising its so low. I am 20 miles northeast of you and we have to easily be pushing 4 inches. Although less on the street.

This was a wet event and would have done way better with a bit colder temps. But still amazing. Its still been almost 10 years here since a 6 inch + snowstorm. (Blizzard 2016).

Yeah I did end up with more but you were in a better spot it seems

This one was a tough measure. Not counting grass, I measured 2.9-3.5 in different areas. Some grass spots had 4”+

I’m leaning towards splitting the difference at 3.2”. @Kay what did you measure?

Brother in law in forest hill measured “a bit over 4”

The pics I’ve seen out of the DC lowlands are comical.

Ground is barely whitened and the trees don't have much.  At least at my elevation (~450') it stuck to the trees.  DCA's measurements always seem suspect, but for the most part they are reality.

I am just North of that yellow band that on the sweat side of 270. For it starting a bit much has filled in.

Clarksburg seemed to be right at that yellow spot for the duration of the storm.

That verifies my unoffical measurement of about 2" on the grass here. Yeah got a little unlucky with the banding, unfortunately...but it still looks gorgeous outside with the snow sticking to everything.

P.S. Glad I took a minute to enjoy it before coming on here and seeing we got kinda unlucky being between those bands. Man being fringed south the first time and north this time sucks man :weep:<_<

BUT...still looks really nice though! Gorgeous scenery for the Christmas season :)

Congrats to the northern crew for the hit! I measured... a 'T', lol. Just enough to whiten the ground, actually started as light sleet at 3 am before going over to flurries. 0.01" in the gauge once thawed. Was 27.0 at 7 am (likely the high), now 22.8/12.9 at 9 am.
