Did you have any graupel?  I woke up to that hitting my window at 4am as it finally started to crank.  Did not expect that.  I think guidance yesterday did pretty dang well for areas north of I70, but subsidence between bands and accordingly warmer temps shot us in the foot farther south.

Tops of cars getting coated. Nice bands to the northwest that should pivot through. Hoping for 1-2” of the good stuff to make it festive around here.

Yeah, some, but not a lot.  Weirdly, it balances out the extremely high ratio snow from last week to the point where I’m nearly 10:1 on the season.

My December average since 2009 is 2.8" (probably not perfect since I didn't record each event from 2009-2012, but used BWI for those years outside 12/17/09).  Up to 3.4" now for this month.  Tied for 3rd highest December total.

Yeah its super wet snow and with the inconsistent rates I cant seem to add to the inch I measured earlier.

Here in the tropical shores of the Potomac at Ft. Hunt , VA, Just measured an 1.0 inch, sticky pretty snow.  Winter wonderland. Trees and roads covered.  Gonna be my total I think. Winding down and getting windy…gonna be a great day for a for a fire and watching football with lots a beer!

I just measured on the deck railing. I had about 0.9 inches, probably someone in Canton could measure an inch if they found a better surface. Lots of graupel it seems.

Funny enough my youngest just went outside to investigate “It’s now even snow, it’s little beanie balls”.  She’s 5 lol

Picked back up here as well. Stuck at 32.

Woke up at 4am in silver spring to take a peek outside and to my surprise it was just pixie dust, not even a coating. Back to bed and up again at 7am to the last flakes, and a coating of maybe 1.5". Congrats to those to the N and NE!

Neighbor's PWS recorded 0.18", which is probably low.  I'd guess more like your total?  I doubt I got over 0.3" liquid as guidance suggested I would because of that lull overnight.  Probably 8:1-ish ratio

So much graupel. Was very surprised by it. To be honest this is just a repeat of the last storm, with a few tenths more accumulation. That also had lots of graupel mixed in here and struggled to get rates going.
