Well I'm calling it quits from the rat-race today.  Time to enjoy some retirement/semi-retirement.

Hope it will free up time for doing things you love to do.
It will be 4 years next month for me.  Unfortunately, the arthritic knees that helped convince me to pull the pin have degraded enough since 2023 to limit my activities.  Most recent fishing was March of 2024; last 12+ month period without wetting a line came in 1951.
Left knee is much the poorer and it's getting replaced on the 23rd.  Right knee is holding up better.

Good luck with the new knee Tom.  You and I are among the few on this site who remember 1951….lol.   It will be 5 years for me on 9/30….but my side gigs means that I’m semi retired.   But considering my life prior to 9/30/2020 it feels retired to me.  As a life long night owl, I’ve finally experienced 7-8 hours sleep per night.  That in itself is life changing.

He's been buying and selling houses over the years so he's probably due for a new pit, it's been a while. He's really up to Pit 4 or 5 I think.

Lol.

our wedtborough house hit the market today.  We’re renting in Providence for a year with an eye to getting something on the cape in the spring.

meanwhile, heading to pit2 in the morning.

Hi Guys

I have not been posting much or checking in but I want to say hi.  I just saw that Trump fired the entire staff at climate.gov

and the site is being closed down.  That is big news.  I used that site quite a bit for historical data and any climate trends. Here is a link to the article that was posted on NPR. I bet that will be closed down eventually too.

My daughter is a orthopedic PA. Tells me knee replacements are a piece of cake. She did a bunch last week actually. Not sure I trust her though. She's been angling for me to get my trick knee fixed. Good luck on your surgery!

Not that I’ve ever had one but from what I’ve heard from people who have gotten them is the procedures have come a substantial ways over the last few decades. My boss from my first part time job had to have both knees replaced back in like the early 2010’s. He was back golfing within several months.

She told me she helped to patient actually walk out of recovery last week. Still don't trust her.

Wow, where is this? I can see myself clanging one off that ledge and right back into play after a few beers

Shining Rock in northbridge. And that's exactly what most people do. 230 yd par 3 from where we were playing. It's fun but It slows the course way down.
