TheClimateChanger
Anyways, what I actually popped in to note. Looks like Fryburg Eastern Slopes AP tied the Maine state record high of 101F for the month of June yesterday. It previously reached 101F on 6/18/1907 at Millinocket, and at Grand Lake Stream on 6/17/1988.

ROOSTA
Bogus, ERROR, Sensor malfunction, bad data reading. My Davis recorded a "blipp" on wind speed once: GUST 238mph. I have a TWI-8000 in the carport, never assembled and put in the field. In the past it is the most accurate equipment I've ever used. Two Davis because of convenience is enough

Who ever heard of BDL running as the cool spot? They've really neutered a lot of these ASOS sensors. Ever since Trump took office, all of these big warm spots have suddenly disappeared. Makes it difficult to compare to recent past heat waves. They have them set on hard mode for this heat wave, and we're still throwing up big numbers. 2

With that said, Daryl Herzmann and IEM is an extremely reputable source, which would suggest it may have been changed at some time for consistency with wind measurements. Not sure. The WMO standard is for 5-minute averaging, but not all jurisdictions use that. The UKMET Office uses only 1-minute averaging for its platinum resistance thermometers, which I only recently learned from some complaining denialists from across the pond. These guys are always the biggest snowflakes. Oh, there's too much red on the weather map. The temperature is illegitimate because it's based on only a 1-minute average instead of a WMO 5-minute average! Etc., etc... Wind changed in the 2000s when ASOS transitioned from cup and vane anemometers to the ultrasonic ones. That change only affected gusts as the averaging period was reduced from 5 to 3 seconds to match the WMO standard made possible by using a more responsive instrument. Chinook
this was a historically hot day for Maine. Augusta got to a high of 100 with a low of 68. 100 shattered the record of 93. The 68 was not the warmest of all time

It's 2-meters keep nicking off degrees every run though - it may be that a collapsed model solution is nearing. It's an odd looking surface synopsis for 18z in these Euro runs, too. That much damming just looming from the NE, yet no BD coming down, is atypical climo to say the least. I don't trust it, but it would be interesting to see that. GFS-like solutions are climate friendlier. On the flip side, the Euro is typically not that grossly inaccurate at < 4.5 days, whereas the GFS has made more gaffs in that range. hard to say or sell either way

A little surprised it didn’t get 100 yesterday, but like you said it was literally a degree. Anything can happen when trying to achieve 100 around here.
