It's not unreasonable to think that there was a time when it was normal. Of course I wasn't alive from the late 50s through the late 60s but from what I read those were some wintry winters.

I was alive and old enough to remember the individual winters.  We still had long stretches ot stink sometimes.

This is depressing 

We are all screwed right now 

In past winters , I would be screwed down here in NYC with SWFE or clippers but the whole northeast is terrible right now.
