The next 8 days are averaging   63degs.(57/70) or +3.

Reached 76 here yesterday at 5pm.

Today:   70-73, wind e. , m. cloudy, Rain by 10pm., 67 tomorrow AM.

67*(99%RH) here at 7am---FOG<0.25mi.     69* at 9pm.     Reached 73* at 2pm.

Don, it will be interesting to see if the record is a result of a slight undermeasurement at the park taken too late allowing time to melt or settle. Notice the other surrounding airport sites with more frequent measurements made it to an inch on 2-27-23.

1989 - Showers and thunderstorms associated with Tropical Storm Raymond deluged southeastern Arizona with heavy rain. Up to four and a half inches of rain was reported north of Wilcox. Evening thunderstorms developing along a cold front produced severe weather in Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle. 2010: A significant severe weather event struck northern Arizona with at least eight confirmed tornadoes. This event will go down in history as the most tornadoes to hit Arizona in a single day. An EF2 tornado was on the ground for 34 miles, ranking as the longest-tracked tornado in Arizona history. 

 

2016: Around a half dozen tornadoes struck Kansas, including an EF-2 and EF-3 in Saline County.

Starting another topic for spotty 3-6" rains tomorrow somewhere ne NJ/se NYS/w LI and w CT. some isolated FF potential, despite recovery from late last week. 

FV3 future GFS has spotty 8" near NYC.  Looks too large and I prefer the 3-5" bands but... it's early. In a hurry now.

Also awaiting completion 12z SPC HREF and 12z RRFS.  Daily records 10/7/23 CP 4.09 1972 and POU 2.51.
