Now that's wicked  impressive stuff .

I saw a piece of gutter blowing around in the darkness.  Its getting real

That station is right across Jacks Mountain/16 from me. I can verify synoptic wind to the likes I’ve never seen before. Even here we’ve gusted 60-70 multiple times.

Wow this wind is roaring!  PAX at 70 degrees at 6 am while Cumberland 37.  Falling quickly thru low 50s here.

A house two streets over has one of those motion detector lights over the garage door as bright as the dang sun, and it keeps coming on from wind.  I feel for the two houses directly across the street from that darn thing!

We do wind well around here.

Mount Holly snippet-

The other big story to note will be the winds. This will actually be quite remarkable given the winds we just had and that we went light and variable overnight last night - another quick turnaround. Strong southwesterly flow ahead of the Arctic cold front will quickly mix down to the surface after sunrise. With the dry air noted earlier, steep low-level lapse rates, actually not too far off the dry adiabatic lapse rate in fact, will allow for deep vertical mixing, carrying down winds from well above 1500 feet from 850 to the 700 mb level. With a strong ll-jet moving beneath this shortwave, we will see strong winds glide right down to the surface. Ended up dividing the Wind Advisory into two segments, starting the western portion over the Poconos and Lehigh Valley at 10 am, and the rest of the area at 1 pm, both of these advisories lasting through 10 pm. Wind gusts up to 45 to 50 mph will be possible across the entire forecast area, likely highest associated with and behind any showers and snow squalls that form.

Heat and winds - the Mid Atlantic’s two over performers.

Already gusting into the 30s out here.  My mom is worried about my youngest nieces and nephews getting blown away outside later. :twister: ;)

Yesterday wasn’t shabby either.  Was up overnight to reload the firewood with crystal clear skies and bright moonlight. Seems like another world entirely this morning.
