Pebble-sized hail and nice CG’s in North Arlington. Dumping again. Gonna check the usual flooded spots.

Go loop the CC on RadarScope.  You can see the scan where the hail dropped.

Super cool. Radar estimate just bumped up to about an 1” for MBY. Pretty great storm and it’s not over yet.

Only about .25” over here so far, but easily the best thunder of the year.

That nasty little pocket of rain seems to have finally moved west and diminished some, so Main Street Ellicott City should be fine.

Having fun standing here at the end of my driveway watching the lighting, listening to the booming thunder, and  seeing torrential rain falling from this bad boy, literally a couple miles to my west.

Everything is forming on an axis just west of here, and moving north, for now. Not optimistic. At least it clouded over for a bit, temporarily blocking the searing sun from further burning my grass.

I know the feeling...going to be harvesting popcorn around Easton this year if we don't get some rain, sitting at 1.0" for the month.

Wondering if we might be done up this way. Seems like the stuff down in PG County is struggling to move north.

0.91” in about 45 min timespan along with one of the best lightning bolt/thunderclap combos in some time.

My neighbors PWS only says 0.51”. I’m always skeptical it runs low most of the time.

Despite not a drop of rain falling, the temp is 73 with a nice breeze. Feels completely different from this morning.  Outflow from the booming storms just to my NW FTW.

Rather have some damn rain though.

Looks like Eastern Shore into Harford and Cecil and then down in the DC area are the two zones for now.

Maybe some development south and east of you now?

Absolutely dumping out of this pop-up storm in N Arlington. Heaviest rain since last July.

Was that the infamous 6"hour storm? Gosh how time flies: I remember it well.

I think some stuff is forming along the bay/sea breeze moving inland across Delaware.

Sun is back out here. Lol if I don't see any rain from this, I will have to call it a major bust, given the 80% pops and heavy rain wording. I was skeptical given the tendency for limited/ hit and miss coverage with slow moving pulse type convection. 50% would have been good enough.

Maybe the sun combined with either the outflow boundary from the stuff to the north, or the one moving NW from the coast will pop something here. Grasping at straws, lol.

Been awhile since I have heard so much rumbling thunder for so long with no rain. Time to crank up some  Blind Melon. :sun:

I have my Terrapin Imperial coffee stout though as I "track", so I'm good.

My late 70s parents were coming up for a visit from Calvert today -- I told them to hold off and maybe we do it tomorrow.  They called a half hour ago and said we're plowing through it. :o  Actually slackening up a little on their route but still!

Heavy downpour just now but ending.

Time for a mini chase. Stuff is really popping to my NE, E. and SE. If it manages to miss here, at least I can get some nice cloud shots. Cant see a damn thing here in the woods. Living in the "mini great plains", its very conducive to getting some impressive storm photos.

Took these less than a half mile from my driveway. Talk about storms all around. Hopefully something will hit here lol.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure we are talking about the same thing. Ended up being about 3” an hour in Arlington for that storm. Picked up a bit more than 1” in a little over 30 minutes here today, so not bad.

Crazy thunder. Booming and rumbling and propagating from multiple directions. Still in the hole! I think I saw a few drops though.

Have fun, just got 1.35" of rain in less than 30 mins in Easton, instant flooding.

Finally started raining here, after perpetual thunder for hours.

Glad you finally got some decent rain there.
