I told the kids 1-2”. If I had to put a O/U on it, would probably go 1.7”.

I was thinking something like that. I think you guys might go over 2 inches.

Prime snow temps.  Once we get down to 40 at 5:30 pm, the getting will be good.   I'm at Navy Yard with a stout 5 feet elevation.

We will have to get our fatties elsewhere

Elementary schools close at 2:05pm today in Fairfax County.  Going to be a lot of kids on buses...

Arlington just announced its two hour early release -- much later than they are supposed to do (10:30) so they might've had a last second panic when OPM announced it. They at least get out at 1:35... so maybe slightly better.

Ridiculous to wait this long to make that decision IMO.

Actually, no. The decision is harder to make than you would think.  MARC and VRE run only one way because of shared tracking with Amtrak and CSX so there are a lot of rail logistics to iron out.  Even with a plan in place, which there is, it takes at least two hours to switch business operations.

Really cool stuff on the leading edge. Wall of precip has feathers due to dry air. Overcomes almost immediately. Juicy slug inbound..

I'm at work waiting for them to make a decision. We technically go by MC Government but we always seem to be more generous than them. No decision yet.

First snow driving test potentially for my new car. JebDrive.

2” would tie my seasonal 2011-12 total, so I hope for 2.1” or more to break that.

What does MARC and VRE have to do with Arlington schools?

I somehow quoted the wrong post on mobile.  Disregard.

No problem.  I appreciate the insight into logistical issues that impact these decisions.  I sympathize with the decision makers for sure.

Waiting sucks

Don't worry. In  an hour this thread will be so busy you won't be able to keep up and even if you design a perfect troll post it will get buried with reports of "RIPPAGE!" or "White Meteors" or "OMG F me it's raining". Yea, something like that.

Bob's dead on -- once it hits it is hot and heavy. More than makes up for the wait.

Closing in on 0.5" now, 32/25
