Could it just be lower rates that is turning it over? Looks to be a gap in precip out in the Stevens City area.

Lots of places have switched.  If it's raining in Leesburg and Frederick, it's rain here.

25F and heavy snow currently here. Or at least in my warped mind it is. Reality says 34 and rain

Still holding on to snow at the moment, but only a matter of minutes it seems until a flip...

It was never going to stick on paved surfaces. I don’t know why everyone is whining like infants.

Perhaps an expert can  explain it, but it appears the horrible severe weather in the south is robbing us of the ripping rates necessary for any kind of a winter storm here....

Huge lull to my southwest, that will definitely change it to rain

But wait, Jayyyy had heavy snow with snow covered roads in EC.. a veritable blizzard.

Wrong.. I said the roads are not covered. I said grass, car tops, and sidewalks. Some of you guys really are dumb as nails. And far too emotional over weather.

Sleet with flakes mixed in - 33 degrees

Low is currently just northwest of Augusta GA and heading east-north-east, should be near ORF by midnight. Some hope therefore of a phase change back to snow for some now getting rain, darkness and better access to colder air filtering into w PA should both be helpful factors. This could have been quite a heavy snowfall for the airports if colder high pressure had been in place ahead of the low, but could have a fairly good outcome anyway for some. Heavy thunderstorms likely for anyone south of an EZF to OCE line tonight, 1-2" rainfalls likely in s.e. VA.

Come on baby. Radar is blossoming over Maryland. Let’s get these rates back up. Rain / snow / mix line is very close by.
