I received .90 from that round. .98 for the day.  No lightning anywhere to close to the house but a lot of loud thunder. Inside the Beltway from Springfield up through McClain did great today

No question that this is the best storm of the summer.  Just had a lightning strike that somehow turned on one of my daughter’s toys.

Oh wow; is that your daughter's toy? She must be quite the kid.

Neighborhood PWS says only 0.28” which seems pathetic based on the upstream reports and radar. Pouring in greenbelt right now.

Not much going on up this way either compared to what the D.C. crew got a couple hours ago.

2.13" here in just over an hour from 6:00-7:00 p.m.  It left water rushing across numerous roadways in the area, and standing water in farm fields and back yards.  Now at 8.14" for August.  The fourth consecutive 7.00"+ month in my yard.

And thunder has returned and more downpours are bearing down.

Got .4 in early morning hours.  Left for Cumberland,  where I got treated to a nice storm this afternoon that produced a tornado warning... didn't experience anything but a cool looking sky and heavy rain.

Everything missed back home, but see it's getting nailed right now.

Radar estimates are low today.  There are places in Chantilly with 5-6”.

I have a Vantage Vue. It says the max rain rate this month was 9.93 in/hr at 8:33PM tonight.

It also says that we received 8.07" this month, 4.51" today. It was raining so hard in Great Falls tonight that looking out the window, I couldn't even see the trees. Just a wall of water.

Our driveway is probably finally totally gone.
