Have to laugh at a rainstorm two days after record lows. Nature finding every possible way to screw the mid Hudson Valley out of a big snowstorm this winter.

Similar thing happened right after NYC reached zero in late January 1994.

At least we have a robust cold snap to show for our awful snow totals. If there's one thing worse than a snowless winter, it's a snowless winter without any subzero readings.

on 1/7/1918 NYC picked up a half inch of rain after the coldest and longest arctic outbreak in history......

on 1/14/1968 NYC picked up 1.30" of rain after a week long arctic outbreak with five single digit days...I remember watching the heavy rain that evening and thinking what a waste of cold we just had...
