IsentropicLift
too early to be spiking the ball on a hot summer. JB says cooler once past the 25th due to the SOI crash The ensembles show the Western ridge rebounding towards the end of June, but the next two weeks will probably be on the warm side, although I think the core of the heat stays well South. Isotherm
too early to be spiking the ball on a hot summer. JB says cooler once past the 25th due to the SOI crash Latest JMA weeklies have the warmest period up front: Days 3-9, trending to near normal for week 2, then the trough is back in the Northeast for weeks 3-4 which would be June 25th-July 9th. At this point I tend to agree with it. The global pattern doesn't support the longer-term maintenance of a mean ridge in the Eastern US.

Should remain below 115 so you don't have to worry about the asphalt melting. https://twitter.com/rapplerdotcom/status/603541834036604929/photo/

jm1220
Thank you for this. Not as sharp as the Boxing Day stormThat was a BS reading at JFK which threw the map off. Just about everyone reported well over a foot with that storm. Long Beach had 16".

Long Beach had 16". Other then Boxing Day that was the best snow storm I saw in 7 years living in lb. legit 4" hours rates. Prior to that a slet thunderstorm. And some serious winds. 16" for sure JFK sucks

nzucker
GFS continues to show the western ridge asserting itself with more of a classic +PNA pattern asserting itself. Should bring cooler twmperatures to the East in the long range.

Juliancolton
AC'd air is brutal on the throat and nostrils, but there's just no other way to sleep this time of year. 65F is about my upper limit for comfortable snoozing.
