I would lock this in every week of the summer...

You can see how active the Pacific is and the wrench it may throw into some forecasts.

Halong will move into the Japan area...but the effect on the flow is unsure since the PAC jet is sort of zonal and it may not have a huge effect at least in the near term.

The second image shows more activity near Hawaii and you can see some amplitude in the Pacific in the form of ridge-trough-ridge etc. Bottom line is that we may see shifts both to either warmer or cooler as we head into mid month, but the overall ridge out west-trough in the east really isn't going anywhere.

Looks like an average 1st week of August for SNE, 80's and moderate humidity...

That's probably more today and tomorrow into Wed. Rest of the week turns cooler and much drier into the weekend. Thursday-Sunday looks absolutely amazing. Today into tomorrow are the more summery days for perhaps for awhile.

Back on the horse for weekend awesomeness after a 1 weekend hiatus. We've been coming up triple 7s all summer for weekends.

Hmmm

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...THE CENTER OF THE COLD POOL MOVES OVER

SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND THURSDAY AND THEN SLOWLY SHIFTS OFFSHORE

FRIDAY. WHILE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE BOTH

DAYS...THE BETTER CHANCE IS THURSDAY WITH BETTER INSTABILITY

AVAILABLE. HIGH PRESSURE STARTS TO BUILD OVER THE REGION ON FRIDAY

AS THE MID LEVEL TROUGH MOVES OFFSHORE.

Meh, better chance up north as usual. There is a s/w moving through, but it's a pretty dry airmass too. I wouldn't get excited.

Location, location, location.  This past weekend was our first completely dry one since June, the others all being 50-50.  Saturday was cloudy, but that just made the firewood pile an easier task (till the chain broke on my saw.)
