This morning was the coolest morning so far this season. Parts of the regiono experienced freezes and frost. Most of this week will see highs in the lower 60s. A strong storm will stay too offshore to bring rain to the region this week. Some elevated high tides are possible. Week ahead is basically a chamber of commerce autumn spectacular.

About 20 or 25 years back I went to the NE Weather Conference and one of the presenters mentioned that there is no such thing as a thundershower, just thunderstorms. My reaction then as it is today is that is a Thundershower is a thunderstorm that you can only hear but hits the next town over. A thunderstorm hits you. Not scientific but it is how I differentiated them.

2026-2027 Fall/Winter Mountain Thread

Just a beautiful day with a high of 62 and back down to 57 degrees currently. Some may drop lower than last night I think. -

Saw this on FB. Did it really look like this? Just I saw no pix on this thread or other Mid-Atlantic threads. I figure at least one would have been posted. Just being cautious b/c DCA METAR did indeed report "shelf cloud," but you know how it can go when something get reported and what some will find from other events, and them claim it was on X day. And the date is listed as 10/15. The line of tstms was on 10/16!

2026-2027 Record-breaking El Nino

I think that is extreme....probably between 1997 and 2015 anomalies as competed to 91-20 baseline. -
2026-2027 Record-breaking El Nino
40/70 Benchmark replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
This tied into what I have been arguing....there are going to continue to be other competing forces dictating the weather in the mid latitudes....in addition to some competing convection in the central ENSO zones, there is another high latitude teleconnection at play that is tied to the Kuroshio current. -
That DPI was bogus, but the loss is on the offense. Yeah schedule gets real tough now. Hopefully the defense has figured out some issues and offense can look good with Lamar back.

Only got down to 32f here

Meh. Huntley reminded us why he is a backup QB. He should have had 3 ints. Doyle failed as well. Bad loss, but if Lamar is back next week and the Ravens were 1-1 in his absence, not the worst. Next 3 games are brutal though. Gotta have Lamar back. Not likely winning any of the next 3 with Snoop.

Oh look another game where the refs make a borderline call that leads to a "crazy ending". It's almost laughable at this point.
-
The nice thing about the Eagles sucking is my Sundays will be more productive.
-
I switched over to the Steelers vs Bucs and I don’t understand what McCarthy and Rodgers were thinking by trying to pass twice with first and goal inside the five yard line in a tie game with 1:40 left in the game.

Was hoping the Ravens would make Watson look terrible enough to end my nightmare but I’ll take the ugly win I guess.. Can’t believe anybody can defend that dude when your getting outplayed by Tyler Huntley
