Was just thinking that a little while ago. Barely any black flies other than early season. Those couple of cold snaps did 'em in thankfully.

Can’t recall the mosquitoes ever being this bad. Black fly season was sorta meh

Yes, there definitely is a shot that something sneaks in along northeast Maryland near the Mason-Dixon Line.- 382 replies

Miss north and south with storms today. Officially picked up 0.09” last night at the airport but less imby. Dews crept up into the mid 60s today. First truly muggy day of the year here.

Well, looks like I’ll have to put the air conditioners in for next week. This week has been fine because cool, dry nights and fans. Tuesday onward looks pretty warm.

Lots rain about 2500 feet to our east, as much as eight inches of rain, but we are just too damn far west to get rain. lolz This is one of those nights when some locations get 5 inches of fresh life-giving rain and most of it just keeps sliding either east or west of Buda. Damn. Of course!

The column quickly warms Tuesday and stays that way through middle of next week as an expansive upper-level ridge builds over the central CONUS. Aloft, 850 mb temperatures soar to +15-18C. Unsurprisingly, dry conditions are likely through much of next week as surface high pressure builds overhead. Bigger story will be the increasing heat starting Tuesday through much of the upcoming week. Ensemble guidance shows somewhat impressively high probabilities for high temps >90F with values between 50 and 60% in the CT and Merrimack River Valleys Tues-Fri.
