Could have been near 100 or greater for most of the island if it wasn't for all the smoke. Low 80's on the north fork.

High of 94 down to 92 with the smoke getting thicker. Shadows are gone, not too much smoke near the ground but it's definitely visible.

Definitely cut the temps here, currently 83 with the smoke visibility about 3 miles

Smoke followed me home.  Temps dropping now due to smoke it seems.

We'll have to see if the activity in Warren County hits our area in a little while. Today wasn't supposed to be a big t-storm day, but quite a bit of activity.

This might be a first. A smoky strong t storm. Rain and gusty winds blasting the smoke smell into you.

Does the rain help wash it away or just bring more down to the surface?

Storms look to be firing along the leading edge of the heavy smoke plume. Which is kind of wild to watch.

The severe warned cell south of Scranton is presently putting out a very impressive display of CTG lightning just to my north.

Heavy rain in castleton corners section with thunder gusty winds, nothing at station on West shore yet. High temp of 97° now down to 80°. Quick 0.40".

Completely smoked in here with zero sunlight, and the storms have moved on, so it's not that.
I only picked up 0.01", they went around me.  I did hear thunder.

There are a couple of Air Quality Index (AQI) of 800-1000 in the upper peninsula of Michigan.  I don't think it got that high in the 2023 smoke out.
