If we can manage heavier rates.. might be a few cat paws mixed in.. would be cool to see anyways

I’d honestly be cheering it on if it was June. But I’ve seen plenty of mid to late May flakes the past couple of decades…granted this would be the latest.

It will be like winter enthusiasts losing half of December.   :yikes:

Late May is the equivalent of late November on the other end…so this isn’t even that.  If this were June 8-10 and this happened maybe.    What folks fail to realize…just as they do in late November(which is still very much autumn), is that Late May is very much still spring in New England, and this crap happens here.  Everybody is always in a rush to bring in the next season…it don’t work that way on either end.

25⁰ windchill at Scooters house.  Family gathering in the living room huddled together with winter gloves hats and heavy blankets is so far from normal. Like a 75⁰ turkey day.

I believe this is the morning of May 27 2013.  We had 3 hours of thundersnow and I measured 3.1" at my house at 1100 feet.  The top of my hill had 4".   This is the latest snow I have ever seen here.   Maybe if the rates are really good and it comes late at night we could see something happen.  It will be interesting...

I don't recall the latest I've seen accumulating snow... maybe Mother's Day 1977?

I know there was one in the early 2000's ... maybe 2004? in early May I think.

May 2002

May 9, 2020 was 2” here

May 25, 2013 (event Gene mentioned) I had 0.4”

There’s been flakes in other scattered Mays

Went XC Skiing May 18, 2002... had 2-4" in the Albany area.  Think the airport officially was 2.2".  The hilltowns above 1,000ft had 4-6".

Yeah... I've seen flakes in later May, but nothing has accumulated here that I recall.

I just showed my students the NAM 10:1 just to make them sad...

It’s not going to change that much with 95% of the days already baked in.

I wonder if Eastern NE was cooler, and if higher nighttime lows skewed the mean out there. That said, I do know there were several hot days mixed in this month, especially further west.
