That had been my thinking.  When I vertically inserted the snow shovel, I could see it 3-4" into the stuff - not really surprising for snow that's 98.6% air.

There is… still some large scale wind drifts as patches and small patches left in the high NE facing spruce forests.  Getting down there though to the final coldest/shadiest spots.

Dews in the 20s with clear skies are not giving me a lot of hope up here.  Wind is staying up though, so hopefully the bottom doesn’t fall out.

Could see us around freezing by morning though.

It was chilly playing golf this evening when the wind was blowing and sitting out on the deck at the clubhouse afterwards.

Big way in that there were a ton of them this winter diving down …every few days there’d be one. Ya they didn’t get underneath and redevelop, and were moisture starved, but that’s what clippers are more times than not.  I know what you’re talking about though…and yes those work great for us here.

Next week looks great.  Upper 70's to low 80's  with 50's at night is pretty good for the last week of May.

Inland temps will probably bump up a degree or two from forecast too.   What's not to like?

Yeah, sounds nearly ideal for the calendar.  We've had some terrible May/Junes ofc.  July, I'd be a bit triggered with weeks of 70's and 80's.

2025-2026 winter was pretty dam good, two blizzards(one with single digit temps of 5-6 degrees), a 12/26 evening 9”er also with frigid temps. and very good cold all season..with good pack….that was pretty dam good imo.
