The reality is that outside of some real fluffy lake effect type stuff, measuring every 24 vs every 6 hours is only going to move your SLR from 12:1 to 14:1 not 12:1 to 20:1.

True, but the discussion is not really about liquid ratios per se, it was mostly about measuring snowfall. The amount of liquid in let's say 10" of snow can vary more than one believes. The storm 3 weeks ago was very fluffy, like the great lakes, but was measured mostly uniformly across the board.

MOAR SNOW coming through here at the airport, visibility has dropped again with falling snow joining the blowing snow from the ground.  Just an absolute pounding:  my mom informed me the all-time record where she grew up in Presque Isle, ME is 28.6 inches.  Crazy to see Warwick overtake the northern frontier in any type of winter record.

I can't believe that's still in roughly the same area, crazy...nice storm, left some on the table here but if it wasn't for that band rotting over my head it would be a forgettable nuisance storm, cleaning was tough, running out of room to put the stuff around the sidewalk area, like 5/6' piles on everyone's driveway edge, so what was the max jack? I'm sure it was posted but I don't want to go through 40 pages of posts, I see a couple 30+ amounts in RI/SEMA

Along with others.....just incredible.

I'm really enjoying not having to shovel

I was just telling my wife how I’m jealous of the event for eastern areas, but not really the aftermath.
It’s gonna be a tough week for areas that got 20”-30”.

Still snowing here. Light snow and 30F. Any snow reports from Enfield? I can't get outside a drift is blocking my door.

I'd guess 10 inches. Hard to tell with all the drifting going on. Spots on my driveway were bare and other spots were 24+.

The 20" at BDR is exactly right to me in Stratford. Whoever took over their measurements in the last few years is worlds better than the clowns of the past.

Thrilled for the MA and RI crowd. Epic stuff! Nothing will beat Feb 2013 here where I had the honor of 36", and I love seeing others get to enjoy the same feeling.

Just curious, what was wrong with their measurements of the past? Too high, too low?
