I saw it too. It’s moving W/SW, so not sure where it will ultimately set up quite yet

I don’t wanna jinx it or anything, but it seems like it’s making its way towards my house in Western Prince William because it’s coming down hard like I haven’t seen for a while 31.  All snow all fun

We're getting noticeably bigger aggregates now with this band of ~30-dBZ reflectivity moving through MoCo.

Appreciate the report. There's definitely a little band setting up right along MD 97 into Carroll County. I polled some of the DOT cameras in that area and the roads and sidewalks are starting to cave.

HEAVIEST SNOW SINCE 2016 AND FCPS AINT CANCELLED WTFFFFFFFFFFFF

I've been working in FCPS for over 25 years. They fluctuate in their closings, but they have been burned many times by forecasts of snow that ended up as cold rain. Then parents get pissed. So they often do a delay with a re-evaluation for closing. If the NWS would give us a WARNING, they would go ahead and close. But don't worry. They will probably change it later this evening to give parents a heads-up.

There's some indication of a dendritic growth zone signature in the polarimetric radar observations from KLWX. The ring of enhanced ZDR and KDP align roughly where the radial gradient in reflectivity is greatest, indicating rapid growth of ice crystals through vapor deposition and aggregation. These crystals tend to stick together efficiently and help produce large aggregates. Temperatures near freezing at the surface also favor larger particles.
