Great winter here definitely not complaining. Back to moderate snow.

Still dumping in Ardsley. Got up at 7 and it’s been heavy snow and wind all morning. Hard to get an estimate on how much snow we have because of the wind, but it’s deep.

A few miles to your east im at 18”, i got lucky with that band.

2 killel bands have now setup.  One western area and other over eastern Suffolk county and it's stationary!

I was in the jackpot for the top storm, but I got higher amounts on the bottom (but the jackpot was to the East and North, a classical Nor'easter).

Surprising.  we had winds over 50 last night here.   Was nuts but blew the snow off the pine trees which was good in the end

The way it was coming down around midnight I thought for sure I’d wake up to about double what we got.

@RJay put it well in one of the model review threads a few days ago: 'it just snows itself out.'  It sure looks like when this does end some day, that that's how it ultimately ends, rather than pulling away.

The SPC HREF been one of our best performing pieces of guidance especially in extreme events. It’s what helped to give the NWS the confidence to issue its great forecasts the last few days with this event.

Just shows how far weather forecasting has come. When I was growing up in the 1970s and 1980s many times we didn’t even know a big snowstorm was coming even a day before.

I would say the last major model miss was 1-25-00 when the 12z runs the day before were all offshore with no snow for many places that got record snow.

I am beginning to think that these bands don't necessarily have much heavier snow but rather larger snowflakes. I had very small snowflakes most of the night and now there bigger and the radar picks that up.

I was away for a few events so I'm not sure. I typically track close to Morristown but a few inches more long-term average. It's gotta be in the 40-50" range. Best season in a while for sure. It just feels like we left a lot on the table. Like synoptically, we weren't far off from an 80" season. I wasn't living in NJ in 2017-2018, so I've never seen a snowy winter IMB.

Idk about that. LGA reported 2” an hour for 2 hours in a row.
