20+ days with significant snow on the ground is good. I feel like it was a real Winter. Of course at 39N/90 we aren't always going to get sustained cold like it was.

Looked and felt like a real winter, but definitely not enough snowfall.

Yeah, we had cold and no real torch this winter. Snowcover was great. And the atmosphere threw some HECS, but they both missed. We only needed one direct hit, and it would have changed the entire picture.

Your kids finally got a significant snowfall! Did they enjoy it?

I think we enjoyed last year more. More powdery and lots more sledding. This time it was tough, hard/fast sledding and my daughter got a bit scared. We did make a killer igloo though!

I can't speak for @wxmeddler, but as one of the project folks I'm always down for a beer or six and chatting weather, mesonet, etc.

Centerville (Queen Anne's Co)
Prince Frederick (Calvert)
Lusby (Calvert)
Whiteford(Hartford)

Would love to meet up! We're only down the street.

Yes, I know the person you're talking about. I call dibs on being her employer when she graduates.

Thanks for the list of locations!! Great spots that will help fill more of the gaps that need coverage. And LOL!! The fight is on!! :D

I’ll send you both a PM with my phone number so we can communicate and drum something up. There’s more in the sub I want to meet too.

Year 9 and counting.

More Ninas!

Rarely cold enough to snow here in Ninos anymore, although I would roll the dice with another 2009-10 type deal. Hopefully see we the combo of a severe -AO/NAO with a Modoki Nino again. Would be interesting to see what the results would be now.

Always need to be cautious of BDCFs in early spring. But guidance seems consistent keeping us in the warm sector. Torchy torch starting next Thursday afternoon.

Beware that there are hints in the guidance, mainly in the ECMWF and its AI version, of some back door cold front action during that period.

I think your being very generous with your grade lol.

I give no higher than a D+. If no more snow happens I'll end up with 17" in my yard which is only 58% of climo. 5 years and running for under 20" for the season.

It's just been a brutal stretch for the western and Northern areas.

Some people love Cold but without snow it's just meh to me. Outrageous heating bill the last 2 months lol.

I'm at 11" here.  Only 3 of the last 20 winters I've been in WV have had less snow than that in an entire season.  I'm with you on the heating bills, but I still love the cold.

This is what I've been thinking too. But NE will, of course, be favored. Plus, we've had how many BN months in a row? Has to change at some point, but I'm not sure a fading Niña will do it.

Not seeing any hint of that on guidance. Not sure gut feelings mean a whole hell of a lot.
