The liquid equivalent at NYC of .73 seems high relative to LGA/EWR/JFK unless they just have been under heavy banding.

There was verified very high ratios early on so .73 even with it toning back the ratios now would be much more than 8 inches. So that seems a little aggressive on qpf

I think you'll start to hear pingers between 2-3PM and finish with 10-11".

So the drier air below the heavy band is sleet. Next question is, does snow mix back in when heavier precipitation arrives later.

Lots of sleet mixed with the snow here now. About 8 inches so at least the thump was great. NAM was on the money with the early mixing.

My buddy in Pittstown, NJ western Hunterdon county is now reporting sleet.  He is going to get me a measurement.

12z NAM had sleet up to Jackson Township at 1PM; radar has it around Sandy Hook. Off by 20 miles to the south.
