I keep looking at the NWS US map and shaking my head.  Once NE gets winter storm watches, nearly two-thirds of the country will have watches or warnings because of this storm.  And it goes on for at least several days.  I haven't been this excited for winter weather in a long, long time.

I have rated this storm a 2 baked good storm. Gluten Free shortbread lemon bars and some classic chocolate chip cookies, GF of course. Getting the ingredients this morning. Will need the power ups as we have lost our child labor for clearing snow.

I'm amazed by how cold it looks for days and days after this event!  Imagine if something pops up in medium range next week like a strong clipper.  Or if we get one of those deals where a big system forms as the cold pattern starts to relax.

Ha we had the same convo last night. I feel like shovel before flip, but not too close so another layer of snow can go down then ice. I feel like that’s going to be easier to shovel any ice

Secretly I'm hoping to get trapped out there so I can experience 2ft of snow but my wife wants to get back for work Monday.  I may disconnect the car battery and just not understand why it won't start.  But maybe we leave at like 3am depending when the snow is going to start.  I'm used to driving in snow, it's not a big deal, I would hope to get past 270 before much traffic got on the roads.  We'll see how things look come Saturday.

What do you think for Cvill. I've been telling people 4-8 low end with an inch of two of sleet and the possibility of .5+ freezing rain or the high end snowfall of 8-14 with an inch or two of sleet.

I've been telling people to always leave an inch or so at the bottom so nobody is trying to straight shovel sleet. Figure most folks won't be starting at CC radar and wanted to keep the advice generic.

Agreed.  I'd want at least a couple of inches of snow under the layer of ice, otherwise you have no chance of getting it clear...it will be a nightmare regardless...i'll probably just wait for it to end tho...
