WBAL going all in with heavy snow and ice Sunday. No totals mentioned but they’ve alerted the masses haha

…I’m going to the store tonight to beat the mass panic buying

Kudos to them. I noticed this morning Alena Lee said they weren’t going to give totals yet. But have been saying big snow possible.

I did my panic buying on Monday night. Hoping there will still be enough food to make a nice soup when I try again later this week... otherwise it's pasta and toilet paper every night for me.

Alena has mentioned it in the mornings since Monday. Ava and Tommy T went into it more last night. Showing ensemble percentages and such.

4pm news started with Tony giving the aleet haha

usually 415ish when they do their first wx segment. Doubt they mention actual totals

Question… if the biggest hit scenarios are what we get in MoCo, how long would schools be closed for? I have never experienced a snowstorm like this despite living here 10 years.

With virtual an option, probably longer than they need to.

And some of it ends up being because in the biggest snowstorms, snow is pushed into school parking lots. Not excusing "needless" closures by any means - but I know that was a major thing after the 2010 storms.

The mass panic buying may be here already.  Just went to our local ACE here in Takoma and already empty shelves (selling out of de-icer, sleds, and shovels), they said it’s been nuts today.

Fairfax County schools are closed next Thursday and Friday for end of quarter/teacher workday, and some elementary schools (including my daughter's) are on early release on Wednesday, so we're preparing for them to be out all week.

While Wisp is going to be cold AF late next week, it'll be kind of nice driving there with wintry scenes the whole way!

the beginning of the end perhaps? We've staved off the rug pull for quite some time. All the model readers talked about how it was better...til it sucked.

I'm telling ya man...if the others follow suit it'll be the worst rug pull in 10 years as we were are so close!
