A trend in the 0z suite: They've all started to squash the Friday wave...and subsequently the next one juices up some...but then there's that all-too-familoar hole in the precip between the mountains and the coast  Guess we need it to dig a little more...

Northen MD - specifically Baltimore to the Northern Baltimore suburbs - has been absolutely screwed the last 5-6 years. A cumulative snow map would, I suspect, be deeply hilarious. Quite literally everywhere to the north, south, west and east of this area has gotten at least one big snowfall - and almost everyone has had several.

This is a historic snow drought in my lifetime - not just because of the raw volume of snow (or lack thereof), but the freakishly bizarre way in which we KEEP getting the short end of the stick while everyone else in the region hits paydirt over and over. It's more than a little galling.

I think this current climate regime just makes classic east coast storms very difficult. Flow is too fast, things don’t properly phase anymore, everything cuts inland or gets shredded, but south of I-70 can catch a break with these flat southern sliders (and sometimes even north central MD gets an occasional 3-5” event that 40N misses out on, but just not the elusive warning criteria storm).

Trust me, north central MD is not the only place that’s been missing out.

Two decent runs from the GFS for the possible lowlands event on Sunday. It gives the lowlands south of Baltimore 2-3/2-4. It would be nice to score again before the pattern flips to who knows what.

Its pretty comical and sad that most models have a dry slot right through our area for the Saturday night system.

 Snows good west of here then regenerates to the east. I guess there's some downsloping going on there, most of the models show some version of that scenario.
