JFK Airport has reached 90° for the ninth time this year. Only 2010 with 13 days through July 8th had more such days by this time of year.

2010 was the king of all summers!!

95 here and extremely humid.  First 95 since the triple digits back in late June.

Much more active day today in terms of severe weather.  Should be good to go between 3-6pm around NYC

More like 6 pm to 7 pm here, the earlier time frame will be for inland areas.  The storms along that front will get here around 6 and will move through quickly between 6 and 7.

Storm forming on the sea breeze front right now near the LIE. You can see the anvil starting to go up from here in lynbrook. South of the front nothing will happen if anything until after 5.

LGA only hit it on 7/27, so this is a New York City thing not a foliage thing lol.

Foliage affects recent temperatures (late 1990s to present). More is involved for the "100s drought" in late July, including but not limited to stochastic variability.

I just picked up a new Telecaster so it lives in the case regardless lol.

I am ignorant of guitar care, except I had one low grade acoustic crack, (and additionally I took an ovation on a camping trip and the bridge broke off overnight when it got down near freezing).  An electric guitar is sensitive to humidity as well, as far as splitting or cracking?

Fortunately the front was well timed.  I say that since I am working today.  Had this front been 75 miles further east 2-3 hours earlier we'd have had quite the TSTM day, but it ended up slower by a bit than what it appeared 1-2 days ago.  I think 00-02Z is the best window for most areas but the activity will likely be weakening, I have some doubts though it weakens as much as the HRRR is showing

Yep, 95 here with a so-called southerly *sea breeze*

It was supposed to be mostly cloudy the last two days and yet it's been mostly sunny here both days lol.

0 clouds over the ocean with a stable marine layer and cumulous developing over land as expected. When you see forecast highs in the 90s, its probably not going to be that cloudy. Not bad beach weather, more sun and less chance of rain closer to the water

This is probably why I see clouds from time to time to my north but the sunshine continues here unabated lol
