6.8” ORD thus far.

6.0” RFD and 7.4” MDW.

.

I think that puts ORD back over seasonal average for the date of 19.1" Quite a run and would guess a shot at exceeding seasonal totals. Considering Hoosiers list of anemic starts very few rebounded but this one has a chance.

Dry air stanks

Snow hasn’t been able to make it north of that line. 00z DTX sounding had a very dry layer just above the surface. So far that’s still winning out. Probably will be a real struggle to get more than 1.5” -2” total.

Yeah fail scenario coming to life here I believe as well in Kingsville Ontario

An intense band this morning has my total up to 5.9".  This morning's snow is high-ratio stuff.  This is way beyond what I expected.  We have a shot at 7".

That's my backwash 3". Send it my way. That with the Port Washington band can get me over a foot day.:weenie:

This seems like a crazy low snowfall record for Jan. 30th, even at IND:

RECORD EVENT REPORT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN
150 AM EST SUN JAN 31 2021

...RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM SNOWFALL SET AT INDIANAPOLIS IN...

A RECORD SNOWFALL OF 3.6 INCHES WAS SET FOR THE INDIANAPOLIS AREA
YESTERDAY, SATURDAY JANUARY 30, 2021.

THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 3.4 INCHES SET IN 1901.

I'm at 5.4" this morning compared to just 3.8" at the MSN airport which is about 10 mi. NE of me. I see a 5.8" report from Verona which is closer to me than MSN airport so there's support for that. I've bettered the airport by an inch or two on each of the last three storms here. I'll check total depth later but it should be around 14-15" as it was 10" before the snow started yesterday. This is the best string of storms in several years.

LE still hitting SE WI very well, and down into NE IL too.

Enhancement down through ORD as well now.

Thanks for the updates. Maybe HRRR wasn’t completely off it’s rocker this time for the lake effect potential. At least for SE WI; as NE IL yet to be fully realized.
