Lol the sun just came out.  The winds are ripping.  It's hard to stand up.  The area I'm in is protected by Robert Moses.  I was getting sand blasted to badly at Jones Beach.

I was outdoors for a few seconds when that band just came in and I look like I was shoved in a pool. Rain/winds just came in like a freight train.

Just had a gust probably 50-55mph, trees swayed pretty good. Also torrential rain but radar looks lighter.

More rain than I was expecting here in NW Nassau. I’m glad about that because it’ll weigh down the huge planters I couldn’t move. We already lost a large tree limb that broke only a fence (thank goodness). Unbelievably we still have power.

Hook echo on the cell just SE of Islip and rotation on the cell to the East of that as well. Both have special marine warnings for waterspouts.

Believe it or not winds here are actually calm as the center passes nearby.  Next up for us is that burst of strong winds from west and north west as the storm moves away.

Winds cranking up knocking a lot of things around. Power keeps dipping out IMBY. I wouldn't be shocked to lose power for a bit soon.

The last time I remember winds were howling like this and my building  was shaking was during Sandy.
